Serephine’s Gatsby Collection Shoot
I got to step into the 20′s for this shoot.
A time of lavish, wealth and a bit of ignorance. A time when it seemed too good to be true
Did this time exhist? Was it real? It is almost impossible for me to fathom. For someone like me.
I grew up loved and with much affection from my parents who both dearly loved each other. But sometimes things were difficult. There wasn’t always a lot of money. The older I grew, the more I understood. The more I could see the look of worry in my parents eyes.It is hard to explain some of the struggles. A lot of it hurts and is hard to admit. A lot of it resulted in going to school and learning to understand that you were a little bit different. I hate to use the word separation, but it was like there was a line and I knew what side of the line I was on.
I’m still childish about so many things. I can still feel that flush of embarrassment about some of the hand me downs I had to wear.It has taken me a long time to understand that the wealth comes in many forms. My home was filled with love and love was always enough. I was so happy that Erin (owner of Serephine) asked me to shoot her beautiful hair pieces! It was such a dream to be a part of it all!
