My tulip experience

I have lived in PNW now for 6 years. Every year I have seen the flood of tulip pictures plastered all over Facebook and every year I have desired to take my family to see the beautiful blooming flowers and every year it just never seemed to happen. Why couldn’t we  get it together? I am even more embarrassed to admit that my husband and I made a strong attempt to see the Tulips two years ago and we ended up getting lost. We drove for hours, neither one of us had been bright enough to have looked up directions and thought we could rely on our GPS. Then we ran out of time before my husband had to start  work that evening and had to drive back home….completely disappointed. I think we felt so worthless at that point about our counterproductive endeavor that we just busted up in laughter.

This year was the year that we got to see the tulips for the first time ever! It was beautiful. A sea of color. A joyous day that filled me with happiness.

I was thinking about this blog post earlier today and I thought settled inside of me. A thought about life. Life does this to us. Life has disappointments and we often feel worthless. For the past several years I have wanted to get pregnant. After suffering emotionally and physically I finally got pregnant and then at 12 weeks lost the pregnancy. This is not the only life challenge I have faced and I know that there will always be little bumps along the way. Sometimes laughing about it all is the best things to do. Having an attitude where we are grateful and happy no matter what because if we are happy and patient we will see those tulips bloom and it will be a happy day.
